Making your own homemade avocado mayonnaise is so easy and much healthier than regular mayonnaise. Store-bought mayonnaise is often made with unhealthy inflammatory oils like soybean oil, vegetable oil, and/or canola oil. This avocado mayonnaise recipe is made with real avocado which is full of healthy fats making it a healthy alternative to traditional mayonnaise.

To make this healthy avocado mayo recipe you only need a few simple ingredients: 

  • 1 large avocado
  • 2 tsp apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tsp fresh lemon juice (juice from half a lemon)
  • 3/4 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 Tbsp avocado or olive oil
  • 1/4 cup water

How to Mayonnaise with Real Avocado

Start with one large avocado, remove the pit, and scoop the avocado into a small bowl, or wide mouth mason jar.

Next, add the rest of the ingredients to the bowl.

Then use a handheld immersion blender (stick blender) to blend until smooth. Make sure to work the blender around the bowl, or bottom of the jar to make sure all ingredients are fully incorporated. You can also use a small food processor or high-speed blender. If you do opt for a regular blender then you may have to double or triple the recipe in size.

Transfer to an airtight container and store in the refrigerator. Use within 5-10 days for best results. These jelly jars are a great way to store your homemade avocado mayo, as well as any other homemade condiments.

  1. Remove avocado peel and skin.
  2. Combine all ingredients in a small bowl or large mouth mason jar.
  3. Blend until smooth using a handheld immersion blender.
