White Pizza Recipe with Fresh Ingredients
To make this delicious white pizza you will need to prepare a little in advance. We are using our homemade pizza dough, homemade fresh ricotta, and fresh garlic with an option for our homemade garlic white pizza sauce. This is what you will need:
- homemade pizza dough (pizza dough recipe)
- homemade ricotta cheese (ricotta recipe)
- cubed mozzarella cheese
- olive oil
- garlic (or our garlic sauce recipe)
Like many of our pizza recipes, we are using the Hans grill pizza stone. You will need a pizza stone or pizza oven. We love the Hans Grill Pizza Stone for use on the outdoor grill, or in the kitchen’s oven. We also love the RoccBox outdoor propane pizza oven (similar to an Ooni). You can find them online here:

How to Make the Best White Pie
Recipes to prepare to make homemade white pizza from scratch. Obviously, since this is a white pizza recipe there will be no tomato sauce.
First, start with preparing and gathering ingredients. For the dough, we suggest making your own pizza dough. You can use store-bought dough if you’d like. Find the recipe here: Pizza dough.
Next, the cheese. Typically a good white pizza includes different cheeses. We are using cubed mozzarella and homemade ricotta. Again, you can use store-bought or make your own. Our ricotta recipe is very easy to make with only three ingredients. Find the recipe here: Ricotta.
Then garlic! We love lots of garlic. You can either mince a few cloves of garlic or use our homemade garlic white sauce. We first shared our garlic sauce on a pickle pizza recipe. Find the recipe here: Garlic Sauce.
Making Garlic Ricotta Pizza
First, turn on the grill with the Hans pizza grill stone inside. The stone will heat up with the grill while you prepare the pizza.
Start by stretching the dough out with the back of your hands and pressing the edges out on a lightly floured surface. Once the crust is formed place it on a lightly floured pizza peel.

For this cheesy pizza spoon a few dollops of ricotta cheese onto your favorite pizza dough.

Next, sprinkle the garlic onto the dough, whether you are using fresh minced garlic, homemade garlic cream sauce, or even garlic powder.

Then drizzle the dough with a little extra virgin olive oil.

Lastly, add about 1/3 cup cubed mozzarella cheese.

Place the prepared pizza into the grill on the preheated pizza stone and immediately close the lid of the grill.

Let the pizza cook for 5-7 minutes until the cheese melts and the crust is golden brown.

Remove the pizza from the grill and top with some fresh basil.

White Pizza with a Perfect Crispy Crust
The pizza stone can be used on the grill or in a hot oven. We have yet to try it in our home oven but so far it gives every pizza a perfect crust.

When timed correctly, the underside of the pizza is cooked evenly and crispy every time. 5-7 minutes is the sweet spot.

Simple Recipe for White Pizza
This simple white pizza recipe is the perfect addition to any pizza night.

Of course, you can add additional pizza toppings, like parmesan cheese, red pepper flakes, and fresh herbs, etc. This recipe acts as the best pizza base for your white pizza made with fresh and simple ingredients.

Making your own pizza at home with ingredients from scratch will always tend to be better than anything you may get at your local pizza place.
