Dairy-Free Coffee Panna Cotta Recipe with Coconut

This dairy-free coffee panna cotta recipe lets you enjoy this delicious creamy dessert without the traditional heavy cream or milk. This no-bake dessert is so easy to make and is just as tasty as traditional panna cotta.

Dairy-Free Panna Cotta Coffee Dessert Ingredients 

To make this delicious dessert we took our espresso panna cotta recipe, and our coffee jello recipe and found a way to combine them and tweak the ingredients to make this easy panna cotta recipe. You only need 4 simple ingredients  that can be easily found at your local grocery stores: 

  • 1/2 cup cold water
  • 2 1/2 Tbsp unflavored powdered gelatin
  • 2 cups hot coffee
  • 1/2 Tbsp vanilla extract
  • 14 oz condensed coconut milk
  • optional – dairy-free whipped cream & dark chocolate shavings for garnish

Dairy-Free Panna Cotta with Coconut Condensed Milk

First, place the gelatin powder in a small bowl with the cold water and let it sit for about 10 minutes while the gelatin blooms.

While you wait for the gelatin to bloom brew your coffee. After a couple of minutes place the gelatin and hot coffee in a medium saucepan.

Add the vanilla extract.

Next, stir over medium heat until the gelatin is completely dissolved.

Then add the coconut condensed milk and stir until smooth.

What is coconut condensed milk? Coconut condensed milk is sweetened full-fat coconut milk. You do not need to add any coconut sugar, caster sugar, or regular sugar to this easy recipe due to the canned coconut milk being presweetened. (The same goes for traditional condensed milk, the ingredients are simply milk and sugar).

Once the gelatin is dissolved and the panna cotta mixture is smooth pour the cream mixture into individual serving cups, or silicone molds.

Cover the cups with plastic wrap and place them in the refrigerator to set for 4-6 hours, or overnight.

Coconut Panna Cotta

Once the dairy-free coffee panna cotta has set it is ready to enjoy.

Top with dark chocolate shavings because everyone knows that chocolate pairs perfectly with strong coffee flavor.

No, because we are using gelatin it is not. To make this vegan you would need to use agar-agar-powder.
